RN to BSN Practice Project

Practice Project

Some schools call it a “clinical.” But at JU, we refer to it as a practice project because it allows you to put your learning into practice – to help your career and your community.

As a working nurse, you need a project that is flexible and easy to work into your busy schedule. That’s why, just like the entire online RN to BSN program, we’ve designed your practice project around you.

“As a graduate from the BSN program at JU, I can say the experience was truly amazing. I was able to maintain my full-time job, and be a full-time wife and mother while completing my degree course work.”
Belinda Pickett, RN, BSN
Camden, SC

The BSN program requires completion of one course that entails a practice project: NUR 456 Application of Professional Nursing Concepts.

You Choose the Project

Your practice project gives you an opportunity to explore subjects that you care about and inspire you. Whether your interest is quality improvement, policy creation, procedure development or new techniques, you can pick a topic that is enjoyable to you.

You Choose the Preceptor

Not only is the practice project self-directed, you also get to choose the RN who mentors you through it. So you get to work one-on-one with someone you feel comfortable – someone who has already earned their bachelor’s degree (or higher) and can help guide you to the successful completion of your project.

No Travel Required

You can even fulfill your project requirement right in your hometown or where you work – there’s no need to travel a long distance to complete it. You not only earn credit; you also make a positive difference in your facility or community.

“My instructor suggested that I present my project to my management at work… I received rave reviews from my management team as well as my instructor… I’m so glad I started the program at Jacksonville University. Thank you!"
Nancie Feld, BSN, RN, COHN-S
Austin, Texas
