A Nursing School That Stands Out

I’m Dr. Carla Fry. I’ve actually been at JU for about six years now and I’ve been a practicing nurse for over 25 years. I got my start with my career actually in the military as a medic, and then when I got out of the army I went back to school. I finished my bachelor’s degree, and then master’s and finally my PhD. So it’s been a long journey.

Jacksonville University is different because we are a bricks and mortar institution. We have a really rich history, we’ve been around for more than 80 years and we really like to think of our students as part of the family.

The other thing that I think really sets us apart and makes us different is our faculty. They’re very diverse, they are very experienced and many of them continue to practice in addition to teaching on a regular basis.

We recognize that it takes a strong commitment and great sacrifice to return to school and we pride ourselves on creating the best educational experience. This is a common thread through everything that we do – from designing the curriculum to the activities within each course.

Our curriculum is designed to meet the needs of nurses with work and family commitments. Our students can watch the online lectures when it is convenient for them, and our local practice project for our BSN program allows nurses to fulfill their project requirement right in their hometowns.

You’ll have full access to the JU library data bases and other student resources such as the writing lab. The online classroom is user friendly and easy to navigate, with options such as email, discussion boards and important links vital for student information, all in one place.

Thank you for considering JU’s Keigwin School of Nursing RN to BSN program. We have been offering quality online undergraduate and graduate nursing education for more than 10 years and we hope that you decide it is the right place to pursue your RN to BSN degree!
