Nurse managers and administrators are key to the economic and administrative viability of healthcare organizations. They work to implement new technologies and conduct clinical interventions that directly affect patient outcomes. They also play major roles in promoting and preserving healthy communities by shaping regulatory, legislative and public policy.
What You'll Learn
Our MSN program, with 100% online classrooms, teaches you the essential concepts of financial management in healthcare and patient care, including budgeting, staffing, forecasting and marketing. You will learn how to manage organizational resources, develop plans and analyze human resources (including hiring, firing, compensation and negotiation) in healthcare. You will cultivate a thorough understanding of licensing, laws, and regulations for nurses at both the state and federal level.
You will also prepare for the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Nurse Executive, Advanced certification (NEA-BC). See sample curriculum here. Find textbooks and materials required for each specific term.
